Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his unique blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway up to The Democratic National Convention to the European party and concert scenes. Sunshine has been born Denise White. Although she's located in Atlanta however, her ancestors are from Chester Pennsylvania. There she was first introduced to the idea of becoming an artist by playing the piano and singing at church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship at the heart of Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice, Stalk You A House 12, was released only in Japan. The song has been re-mixed several times, and has become a staple of her live shows. She has also contributed her voice to the music of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she was hired to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out for the role of director of choral in the production staged by Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine became the focus of attention in the course of four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
